Patients

Prioritize the patient

One Health Direct provides our partners and clients a complete system enabling them to better help patients with chronic health conditions get innovative, life-changing products and supplies sent directly to their homes. We understand that navigating the complexities of healthcare is often difficult, confusing, and stressful. The various steps required of the patient to request and receive a particular treatment option can be overwhelming.

Our system was specifically developed with the intent of simplifying the process for the patient. Friendly and knowledgeable patient advocates are trained to guide patients through the entire on-boading process. From initial eligiability check through product fullfillment, all facets of the process follow distinct protocols and workflows which consolidate the requirements into a simple process. One quick phone call is often all it takes for a patient to enable one of One Health Direct’s partners to help them attain a more innovative treatment option for their chronic condition.

OHD makes the process easy

Between the OHD team and our partner DMEs’ patient advocates, insurance specialists and billing experts, everything is handled on behalf of the patient to consolidate the requirements and execute the process. The OHD system breaks the process down into four stages, making things simple and quick:

Stage 1: Patient speaks to a Patient Advocate

The patient starts the process by speaking with one of OHD’s partners’ Patient Advocates, who will identify their needs and collect the necessary information to verify eligibility and process their order.

Stage 2: Communication with patient’s physician
The OHD partner’s team will then work with the patient’s doctor to gather all necessary documentation to process their order – including a signed prescription and all necessary medical records.

Innovative products to better manage chronic conditions

OHD is proud to provide our partners’ and clients’ patients with innovative products that enable a more effective treatment option for their chronic condition. Each product is extensively evaluated and vetted for quality of materials and functional efficacy. OHD invests in extensive internal training for every product we help supply, becoming product experts able to provide knowledge and expertise to ensure all partners’ patients receive quality support when needed. OHD’s product offering of product categories includes:

Continuous Glucose Monitor Systems
Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs) are small, discreet, wearable devices that measure, track, and relay glucose levels in the body to provide the wearer with real-time reading at any time with a quick scan. This enables users to better monitor their glucose levels by providing transparency and tracings on how quickly they increase or decrease.

Orthopedic Braces
Orthopedic braces are medical devices designed to address musculoskeletal issues; they are used to align correctly, correct the position, support, stabilize, protect and help provide pain relief for certain parts of the body (particularly the muscles, joints, and bones) for both acute injuries and chronic conditions. These medical devices are often prescribed for the patient to assist with pain relief and provide warmth, compression, stability, and support.

Phototherpy Units
Phototherapy uses very specific bands of light for the treatment of Psoriasis, Vitiligo and Eczema. Once only available at healthcare centers and doctor offices, home Phototherapy units are now available and covered by many insurances. Treatments are numerous making home units preferable.

Urological Supplies
Urological supplies are products designed for people who have urinary retention and need help removing urine from the body. This could be caused by many things, such as a blockage in the urethra or an issue with the nervous system that won’t allow the bladder muscles to relax.

Contact OHD to start the process

OHD not only provides access to innovative products, but provides clients’ Patient Advocate Teams with the complete system necessary to work directly with their patients and physicians to handle all of the paperwork, making the process as seamless and easy as possible for the patient.
The process is easy. A patient’s needs are identified through a brief conversation with a Patient Advocate and product specialist. Once they have identified that a patient has a medical necessity and will benefit from one of OHD’s preferred products, the team will reach out to their physician to retrieve a written order and coordinate with one of OHD’s partner DME suppliers. Once the signed order is received back from their physician, we will assist the assigned DME partner in fulfilling the order and shipping it directly to the patient’s home – for free. Patients don’t even have to worry about contacting their insurance company, because the partner DME assigned to them has a team of medical billers that will work directly with their carrier to ensure all products are covered. We do everything we can to assist in making the process as quick and easy as possible.

Medical supplies are delivered right to the patient’s front door.
